Directions 2005
Déjà octobre, une autre année s’achève
et on planifie pour 2005. De quoi la prochaine année sera-t-elle
faite? Et bien, notre boule de cristal toujours bien éclairée
nous montre que le monde du sciage et de la transformation secondaire
et tertiaire continuera d’évoluer à un rythme rapide.
En effet, il faudra être prêt à faire face à
la consolidation car certaines entreprises doivent se regrouper pour survivre
dans le marché mondial, laissant la place à d’autres
dans des marchés bien ciblés.
On portera également une attention particulière à
l’éducation car une relève bien formée et instruite
est essentielle pour assurer la prospérité.
L’industrie du bois devra aussi poursuivre sa modernisation afin
d’assurer sa compétitivité et sa productivité.
Enfin, on devra continuer les efforts du côté de la création,
de l’innovation et de l’exportation. Car la création
de nouveaux produits, nouveaux modèles, nouveaux systèmes,
permet de maintenir l’industrie à la fine pointe du développement
et lui assure une longueur d’avance dans les nouveaux marchés
qui doivent être conquis pour assurer la pérennité
et la rentabilité du secteur.
La boule de cristal nous montre bien quelques nuages, ou est-ce de la
brume? Mais voilà, ça passe rapidement et nous vous souhaitons
tous que le soleil soit au rendez-vous pour vous en 2005.
Dans notre cas, 2005 nous amènera à vous proposer des cahiers
spéciaux que vous découvrirez dans chaque numéro.

2005 directions
Already October, another year ending and plans for 2005
being set.But what will the next year being, well we have been up to our
usual crystal ball gazing and it tells us that the sawmill and woodworking
sectors will continue to evolve at a fast rate.
The word consolidation will be used frequently because a number of companies
will have to regroup if they are to survive in the world market and this
will open specific niche markets for others.
Education will always be at the forefront of concern for industry since
the need for well trained and educated personnel is essential to insure
the prosperity of any business.
The wood industries will have to continue the modernization of their activities
if they are to maintain their competitiveness and productivity.
And finally, specific efforts to develop creativity, innovation and exports
will continue because the creation of new products, new models, new systems,
is essential if the wood sector is to remain in the lead in new markets
that must be won over to insure the continued profitability of the sector.
Our crystal ball does show some clouds or is that fog? But it disappears
rapidly and we wish you all that the sun may shine for you in 2005.
