Weinig Group presents complete line
for solid wood machining at LIGNA Exhibition
With a complete line for the entire spectrurn of the woodworking industry,
the Weinig Group demonstrated its position as the worldwide market leader
of machines and systems for solid wood machining. Visitors saw a wealth
of new innovations and user-friendly solutions. The new generation of
moulders was the center of attention at the Weinig AG booth, all of which
was exhibited at LIGNA. They range from the Unimat 1000 Star with Memory-system
to the fully automatic Unimat 3000 Brillant. The new Unimat 2000 Turbo
with its extremely fast feed system (60m/min) (200 ft/min) and jointed
HSK-tools, celebrated its première. Weinig further presented the
fully equipped Unimat Gold, the universal moulder Profimat 26 S, also
suitable for machining timber, plus the Unimat Super 4, ideal for four-sided
machining before edge-gluing. With the powerful Maxiplan 30, Weinig also
brought a planer and moulder designed for large wood dimensions and therefore
of special interest to carpenters and sawmills. High-precision top layer
slats are produced for the parquet flooring industry on the Unimat 23
as double splitting unit with minimal cutting loss and high performance.
For window manufacturers, there is the Unicontrol 10 for frame-by-frame
production with one-man operation. All window systems such as IV, wood-aluminum
and front doors can be manufactured without tool change. In the area of
useful accessories around the moulders, the whole range of tool grinders
was exhibited, led by the new Rondamat 980 for profile cutter heads, planer
tools, and fingerjointing tools. Weinig's high-speed moulders were represented
at Ligna by the Hydromat 23, now with feed speeds up to 100 m/min. (330
ft/min). For those requiring even higher speed and capacity, the Hydromat
30 XL is the machine of choice; this machine was exhibited by Weinig's
affiliate WACO, the Swedish specialists in the high-performance sector.
Waco also presented a new compact band resaw, the BKS, at Ligna.
La Division Bois du Groupe Biesse lance ARTECH
ARTECH est la nouvelle marque de la Division Bois du Groupe Biesse étudiée
pour la fourniture d'une gamme complète de machines pour le travail
du bois répondant aux exigences du monde artisanat.
L'intention à la base du projet est de transférer le standard
qualitatif qui depuis toujours caractérise toutes les machines
Biesse. Pour cela ont été employés des ressources
financières et un savoir-faire de haut niveau en développant
une série complète de machines automatiques et semi-automatiques
qui incluent aussi de nouvelles technologies telles que les ponceuses
et les scies verticales.

KELIAN
Scie à débit automatique à contrôle numérique
Prestations élevées, place réduite et coupes précises
de grande qualité. Contrôle numérique sur base PC,
saillie de la lame principale de 70 mm max (option). Une vitesse variable
du chariot lames et un pousseur permettent d'optimiser les cycles de façonnage
en fonction des matériaux utilisés et des prestations exigées.
Les scies à débit Kelian sont disponibles en 4 versions
qui ne se différencient que par la longueur de coupe (3200/4300
mm) et la fonction de post-formage.
AKRON 245
Plaqueuse automatique
C'est une ligne de plaqueuses compactes très éclectiques.
La qualité de finition est assurée par des solutions techniques
innovatives et des groupes opérateurs fonctionnels. Le contrôle
électronique à CN, avec afficheurs et clavier, est compris
avec la machine.
PLURIS 20
Centre d’usinage à CN
Centre d'usinage à contrôle numérique pour le perçage

Affleureuse semi-automatique
Cette machine affleure des chants de 3 mm max. d'épaisseur sur
des pièces droites ou cintrées. Les 2 moteurs à haute
fréquence (12.000 TM) garantissent une finition précise
et continue pour tous les types de chants applicables.

Biesse Wood Division announce ARTECH
ARTECH is the new brand within the Biesse Wood Division dedicated to providing
a complete range of woodworking equipment to meet the specific needs of
small woodworking companies and craftsmen.
The foundation of the ARTECH project builds upon the renown high quality

“New Vision” Veneer Scanning
System from VENTEK
The New Vision System from Ventek allows you to automatically separate
open voids, wane and closed defects from good wood for the first time
since the human eye was used on slow veneer machinery.
Many mills are experiencing the following benefits from Ventek’s
new system.
• Decrease in the number of down graded panels and blows by removing
closed defects at the green-end
• Increase dryer efficiency and nearly eliminate drying material
that ultimately become dry waste
• Dramatically reduce re-clip
• Reduce the amount of “good wood” left attached to the
defect due to “best guess” margin settings on existing “see-thru”
systems.
Static-mounted, non-contact surface scanning device provides 1/10”
resolution both with and cross grain. “New Vision” defines the
actual defect, separating open voids, wane, and closed defects from good
wood with accuracy never before possible.
No margins are required because the system sees and defines the defect
accuratly. This saves good wood normally left attached to the defect and
discarded as waste.
Reliability is designed into the system from the start. The system is
non-contact and is not subject to every-dat “in-line” wear.
No more replacing bearings, pulleys, glass rods, fiber optics or in-line
sending and receiving units.
